Virginia. Hola.

Well. Hello.
My name is Kelene Amethyst Fletcher and I have been called to serve as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Virginia Chesapeake Mission. I report to the Mexico Missionary Training Center on November 26, 2014. I will prepare to preach the gospel in the Spanish Language.
Wow.
Wow.
When I first opened my call, and read that little word 'Virginia'. I don't know what I expected. I hadn't actually thought about that state. I didn't expect to feel immediate love for them. I didn't expect to want to be there that instant. The only thing I can compare it to was when I was called as the Relief Society President of my YSA ward last year. The second I was called of the Lord, I had received the most incredible feeling of Christ-like love. It didn't matter what they were like, or if I would even like them. I loved them. And that means everything.
It was quite the experience.
And then it hit me.
I have to speak Spanish.
My Spanish-speaking friends were ecstatic. I am still feeling pretty hesitant about the whole thing. I know I'll be able to do it, but let's just say that languages have been the one thing that have never come naturally to me. At all. I'm going to need a lot of Spirit. Keeps me humble.

It's hard to express myself right now. Words seem so inadequate.
But I am willing to serve. And I'm getting ready.

With Love,
Hermana Fletcher
